Assessment Writing

Process: The client reached out to me to assist with migrating their education materials from PDFs into interactive quizzes and assessments within the Canvas LMS. As a reading-based homeschool company, I couldn’t think of a better fit for my talents! I’m a big fan of homeschooling, and reading is a big foundation to a solid education and creating a lifelong learner.
I joined the team mid-project and hit the ground running by transferring assessment questions for their History team. This involved having an instructor’s guide on hand, the course reading books nearby to reference, and Canvas open to start inputting the questions into the Atomic Assessments LTI. Some questions were pretty easy to transfer over, while others required me to read entire chapters to find answers and contextual information.
After completing the initial import of questions into Atomic Assessments, we got word that we would need to shift from using Atomic Assessments and pull all of the assessments into New Quizzes (the newest iteration of Canvas’ quiz tool). We coordinated to move the questions on courses that we didn’t originally write, allowing us to do some peer-review through the transport process. We’re in the final stages of the transport and peer-review now, with more projects on the way!
